There are plenty of podcasts out there and it’s quite overwhelming when you decide to dig it. Most of the English podcasts I found are hosted by people in America. We don’t see the world from the same gaze based on our location, culture, or life background. So when I’m looking for podcasts, I tend to pick the ones which talk about universal subjects. Everyone wants to be more productive, be inspired, learn new knowledge, or be empowered. Here my picks.
The Naked Beauty podcast
BEAUTY – You know you really love a podcast when you follow its Instagram page! This is the case for me with The Naked Beauty. It’s the latest podcast I found but I’m totally obsessed! Here you have inclusive conversations about beauty trends, self-care journeys, skincare routine from inspired women working in the fashion or beauty industry. They are mostly black, which is refreshing because we are totally left out of this kind of conversation.
Its host Brooke Devard is such an Icon herself. Each episode is seriously a gold mine. It’s so entertaining but also so informative. I always have to pause it to note a beauty product recommendation, a glowy smoothie recipe, or a DIY mask. This is actually the only beauty podcast I’m following. I love the way it’s editing: a short introduction and then the conversation we come for starts. No too much jingle or side talk unrelated to the topic of the day. Time flies so fast when you are in a good company.
My favorite episodes:
Foods to Eat for glowing, healthy skin & food to avoid |Nana Agyemang of EveryStylishGirl |Breaking Down the Beauty Industry, Melanated Skin & Product Development Ft Diarrha N’Diaye |Infiltrating the Fashion Industry ft. Naomi Elizée Associate Market Editor at Vogue
ENTREPRENEURIAL – Finding a fulfilling career is something we all wish to achieve in our life. It’s quite reassuring to know there will always be possibilities to find the right job where we will fit in. We aren’t limited to have only one career. We can actually have a second life and many more.
This podcast was founded by Hillary Kerr and she truly deserves to feature on her own show. From being Editor at Elle Magazine to becoming the co-founder of the successful digital media brand Who What Wear. This show couldn’t have a better host as Hillary to talk about other women’s second life. She interviews the most inspiring women who decided to pursue their passion and did a big switch in their careers. Each episode will give you a glimpse of the entrepreneurial life, from starting from scratch to the moment the success happened.
My Millennial Money
FINANCE – Honestly, who wants to listen to a finance podcast? It doesn’t seem appealling and for me, podcasts should be fun. It is a great way to relax while getting some education, not headaches. But actually, My Millennial Money talks about money issues for millennials in the most understandable way. No complicated vocabulary or long and boring conversations.
They provide knowledge to manage your money from day to day with some budget tips. But they also explain to you the whole process to get into the property market. Here, you will learn everything about mortgage, rent investing, or how to invest in shares for example. In a bonus, you can enjoy the Australian accent.
She’s On The Money
FINANCE – Being smart with money is definitely important. It’s not something we learn at school. We actually need to learn it by ourselves. That is the reason why I put another financial podcast on this list. She’s On The Money aims to help women to create a secure financial future for themselves. This is another podcast for millennials by one of them, Victoria Devine, a financial adviser.
On this podcast, you will find the tools available to know the best way to save, spend, and invest your money.
” If you have a goal, you will save faster. if you don’t, you will see the money in your bank as free money to treat yourself cause you know you will be paid the next week.”
“If you are investing 500$ a month from the age of 21, you will be a millionaire by the time you will be in retirement.” And just like that, my mind was blown, which seems to happen every episode for me.
